The three systems
There is no better floor: there is the one that fits. Underfloor heating, board width, the humidity of the place and how many times it will be sanded decide which.

When there is underfloor heating, variable humidity, or wide boards are wanted. The cross-laid core gives it stability that solid wood does not have.

When the site cannot stop. It is laid over the existing subfloor and walked on the same day.

Scale
A large-area floor is not a small floor repeated. It has to be produced in batches with colour controlled between them — the defect that in a tower is visible from the corridor — the delivery coordinated with site progress, and laid without holding up the other trades.
We did exactly that at TGLT's Venice tower: nineteen thousand square metres of flooring, with a single point of coordination. The same approach applies to an entire hotel or to a store network that opens one at a time.

Finish
A floor is finished twice: at the plant or on top of the site. It is not the same. We apply the UV finish on a line over twenty-five metres long: every board comes out cured, even and ready to install.
On site that means no smell, no waiting, and no sanding dust over a project that is already finished. It is laid and handed over.
Wood species
Hardness, grain and colour change everything: what withstands a hotel lobby is not what looks best in a boutique. We work with domestic and imported woods, and the choice is made with the project in hand.
Questions
They are not comparable categories, and that is the most common confusion. «Engineered» describes how the board is made: a layer of fine wood over a multilayer core. «Floating» describes how it is laid: clicked together, without gluing to the subfloor. An engineered floor can be laid floating or glued, and there are floating floors that are not fine wood at all.
Solid is a single piece of wood through the full thickness: it lasts generations and takes five or more sandings. Engineered has a cross-laid core that gives it stability, which is why it allows wider boards and tolerates variable humidity. If there is underfloor heating, or boards wider than fifteen centimetres are wanted, the answer is engineered.
Engineered flooring is. Solid is not advisable: heat and humidity move it, because it lacks the cross-laid core that compensates for that tension.

A well-maintained solid floor lasts generations and can be sanded five times or more. An engineered one with a three-to-six-millimetre wear layer takes between two and four sandings. What defines its life is the thickness of the fine wood, not the brand.
With our process, no. The board arrives stabilised from the plant and is laid. That is one of the reasons a prefinished floor does not hold up the site.
It depends on the use and the effect sought, but for heavy traffic hard species such as curupay, lapacho or oak are preferred. The choice is made with the project in hand: hardness, grain and colour change the result completely.
