The detail
A display case is not judged like a cabinet: it is judged up close, lit and at eye level. The joint nobody notices in a wardrobe is visible here. The tolerance it is produced to is different, which is why fine watchmaking ends up setting the standard for everything else.
Inside a single piece there are things one supplier rarely makes together: the glass and its edge, the metal profile, the wood, the light and its wiring, the lock and the storage behind. All of it is produced at the same plant, so the fit is not discovered on installation day.
The three pieces
A store is almost always built from these three. Use, height and who stands on each side change, and so does the way they are produced.

Special developments
A good part of what arrives is in no catalogue. A studio sends a section and it has to be resolved: which profile, which joint, how it is supported and how it gets through the shop door. That is where the craft comes in.
The order is always the same: the piece is developed, a prototype is built, it is approved, and only then produced. At the Facebook offices it was the doors and the profiles: there was no equivalent, so they were developed from scratch.
Questions
A single piece is possible. The norm is a complete store, but a standalone display case, a replacement counter or a unit for one specific opening are taken on just the same. What changes is the schedule, not the standard.
Both. When there is a manual, it is studied and production follows it. When there is none, a prototype store is developed and that approved unit becomes the reference for every one that follows.
Yes, when the piece came from us: the setting-out drawing and the finish specification are kept. That is what lets a store opened years ago receive a new unit that does not clash with the ones already there.
Yes. Everything is produced at the plant and on-site assembly happens in whatever time window the space can give, including nights or weekends. In shopping centres it is usually the only way.
It depends on whether the piece is already developed or still has to be resolved. With the detail defined, it is produced and installed in weeks. When the piece is new, the prototype adds a stage that is counted separately and stated when quoting.
Yes, and it is usually why the enquiry arrives. Display cases, counters, panelling and wood flooring come from the same plant and are installed by the same team: there is one party responsible if something does not add up on site.
